The 90 min workshop for teaching and teaching support staff will explore common challenges and opportunities in relation to work with diverse and multicultural cohorts.

The session will touch on the following themes:

  • how to to know our students and challenge cultural stereotypes
  • students' perspectives on class interaction and rapport with staff 
  • online vs. face-to-face intercultural communication and non-verbal communication
  • assessment literacy 
  • how to internationalise the curriculum beyond student mobility.

This workshop will:

  • Share practice and a common approach to teaching and working with diverse cohorts 
  • Develop an understanding of complex student and staff identities 
  • Reflect on common approaches to classroom practice and their impact on diverse cohorts 

After attending this session you will:

  • Critically reflect on their professional practice in terms of inclusivity and diversifying approaches 
  • Use different strategies to involve and engage diverse students’ cohorts.
