Become an IEMA-certified sustainability auditor. UCL and SOS-UK are offering a free, IEMA-certified, environmental auditing in-person training session on 28th May from 10am-1pm, followed by an afternoon of conducting sustainability audits for UCL’s Green Impact staff engagement programme, on the 28th and 29th May 2024.

The training and auditing will be in-person, so you will need to commit to being able to attend the in-person training session. Refreshments and lunch will be provided on the 28th May, as a thank you for taking part.

The training will take place at Bidborough House (38-50 Bidborough St, London WC1H 9BT), on the west wing of the Ground Floor. Please head to reception just before 10am.

We hope to have a maximum of three students per audit, and for every student to audit two teams (one hour per audit).

What is Green Impact?

Green Impact is an environmental accreditation programme, designed to encourage, support and celebrate UCL departments in making environmental improvements.

Interested UCL staff and students volunteered to participate in the programme and have completed sustainability actions over the last year. All departments participating in Green Impact will need an audit to verify their level of achievement, Bronze, Silver or Gold…and this is where you come in!

Although the term 'auditing' may initially sound daunting, it serves as a valuable opportunity for Green Impact teams to showcase the remarkable progress and initiatives they've undertaken throughout the year. It also provides an enriching learning experience for students, allowing them to gain insight into sustainability practices at the university.

Why should you get involved?

  • No prior knowledge or experience required;
  • Receive IEMA approved environmental auditor training with certification;
  • Improve your sustainability literacy;
  • Enhance your CV with desirable sustainability awareness for all career sectors;
  • Gain experience in auditing and sustainability;
  • Engage with academics and professional staff at UCL who are driving sustainability;
  • Meet like-minded people from across the world and make friends;
  • Have a free lunch on us as a thank you!

We can’t wait to hear from you soon. If you have any questions about taking part please email Dan Hall (daniel.hall.20@ucl.ac.uk).
