14 September 2021

We are delighted to announce we have a new partnership with the Anticipation Hub alongside the UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction (IRDR).

The Anticipation Hub is operated by the German Red Cross in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Red Cross Red/Crescent Climate Centre (RCCC). It serves as platform for practitioners, policymakers, thematic experts and scientists to advance anticipatory approaches in the humanitarian system. Key activities include provision of technical guidance, enhancing innovation, learning and exchange, and promoting lasting change through sustained policy and advocacy efforts.

We look forward to exchanging relevant research, practice, and expertise with the anticipatory action community and have published a blog to highlight our centres’ research on warnings, explaining how warnings – and translating warnings into early action – are primarily social processes. Our aim is to help partners to translate warnings into early action, which is primarily a social processes.
