Establish a new scholarship

The Philanthropic Scholarships Toolkit outlines the process for establishing, awarding and administering a donor funded philanthropic scholarship/bursary (‘award’) at UCL. Office Vice Provost Advancement (OVPA) and Student Funding Office (SFO) developed the toolkit to ensure due diligence, legal compliance and best practice is applied across UCL. This toolkit is divided into easy to follow tasks.

Financial support awards for students (i.e. scholarships or bursaries) are an important part of UCL’s student offering. To be competitive on the global stage, UCL must have a diverse offering of student support available.  UCL offers a range of awards that are funded both centrally and locally by academic units. Donor-funded philanthropic awards are important to supplement UCL funded awards. Many of the tasks below to establish a scholarship can also be used for a centrally. departmentally or philanthropically funded award.

For any questions in relation to donor funding and the donor relationship, please contact OVPA at fundraising.support@ucl.ac.uk. For questions about scholarships/bursaries and the scholarship awarding process, please contact the Student Funding Office (SFO) at sfostaffenquiries@ucl.ac.uk
