First editions

The first edition of "Crime and Punishment" was published in 1866 in "Russkiy Viestnik" journal. A year later it was published as a book. As far as we know the only copy of the first edition (both journal and book edition) in the United Kingdom is held by The British Library:

The first English translation of "Crime and Punishment" was published in 1886. The translator was Frederick Whishaw.  The second edition of the translation is kept at the Bodleian Library in Oxford (classmark: Fic. 278975 e.2).
