My Tiger Janu by Chila Kumari Burman, a neon installation inspired by the artist's Hindu Punjabi heritage which celebrates tiger energy for the Chinese year of the tiger, stands in the front windows of Heal’s flagship store on Tottenham Court Road, and will be on display throughout January. Congratulations to current Slade students Annie Lee and Olivia Lopez who have been appointed as artists-in-residence at UCL East.

This is the third in a series of residencies offered to students at the Slade. They will spend a 12-month period observing, commenting and reflecting creatively on this significant development for UCL in east London, including the run up to the opening of the new campus this autumn.

The second of a 3-day series of events presenting research on small press publications, raising questions for contemporary and future publication through returning to early histories of word and image. Holly Davey's artist commission, A Script For An Archive: Women, launches on 31 January 2022, online via Zoom. The event is organised by Duncan of Jordanstone, College of Art and Design. Book via Eventbrite.

‘A Script for an Archive …’ is a recent body of work exploring – often marginalised - female voices within archival spaces. For this commission Davey produced a multi-component piece consisting of a script, a performance and a series of digital collages from her research of women artists’ works in the REWIND Artists Video Archive.
