GREAT Scholarship

The UCL-GREAT Scholarships 2026 are jointly funded by UCL and the British Council to provide financial support to citizens of Nigeria and Pakistan.

Value: £10,000 (one year only)
Available to: Prospective students
Selection criteria: Academic excellence and financial need
Eligible fee status: Overseas (Residents of Nigeria and Pakistan)
Eligible programmes: Postgraduate taught

 

Eligibility

Candidates must be passport holders and residents of Nigeria or Pakistan.

Candidates must have made an application to study any full-time Master's degree in any faculty at UCL in 2026/27 in order to apply for the scholarship.

Please note you must hold an offer of a place on your chosen Masters at UCL by the scholarship closing date of Thursday 7th May 2026.

Distance learning and mod flex courses are not eligible. 


Value, benefits, and duration

  • There are 2 scholarships available in 2026/27. 1 for Nigeria and 1 for Pakistan.
  • The value of the scholarship is £10,000
  • The scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s tuition fees
  • Award recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the UCL – GREAT scholarship. The GREAT Scholarship must be used to pay your tuition fees.

Results

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted mid June to provide evidence of financial need. When this has been assessed, successful candidates will be informed at the beginning of July.
