GREAT Scholarship

The UCL- GREAT Scholarships 2022 are jointly funded by the British Council and UCL. The aim is to provide financial support to citizens of China, Singapore and Vietnam, some subject restrictions apply

Value: £10,000 (one year only)
Available to: Prospective students
Selection criteria: Academic excellence and financial need
Eligible fee status: Overseas (specific countries)
Eligible programmes: Postgraduate taught

 

Eligibility

Candidates must be citizens of China, Singapore and Vietnam.

Have made an application to study a full-time Master's degree at UCL in 2022/23. Note by the closing date of 9th June 2022 you will need hold an offer of a place at UCL.


Value, benefits, and duration

  • There are 4 scholarships available in 2022/23.
  • The value of the scholarship is £10,000
  • Two scholarship for China, Masters degrees in Faculty of Arts & Humanities and Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences (excluding Economics). Applications are welcome from the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (excluding Economics)
  • One scholarship for Singapore, Climate change related subjects, see postgraduate taught courses listed on our Climate Hub.
  • One scholarship for Vietnam (all subjects)
  • The scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s tuition fees
  • Award recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the UCL – GREAT scholarship.

Masters Funding Awards

Through the generous donations made by UCL alumni and partners, as well as UCL's own funding initiatives, we are able to offer a variety of awards to UK Masters students each year.

The Masters Funding Awards (MFA) enable UK postgraduate taught students, from a diverse range of backgrounds, to take up their offer of study at UCL. Listed below are the schemes that are available to those starting in the academic year 2022/23.

How to apply

You need to have submitted an admission application to UCL in order to apply for the scholarship.

Instructions for accessing the online scholarship application form:

  1. Login to Portico with your normal details.
  2. Click on the ‘View’ button for the ‘Active Application’ that you wish to apply for funding for.
  3. In the application screen, click on the ‘Funding’ in the menu at the top of the page.
  4. You are now on the funding page. To find out which funds you are eligible to apply for click 'Check and apply' under ‘Funds Available’.
  5. Click on the scholarship name of the scheme that you wish to apply for.

NB. For each programme that you wish to apply for funding for, you will need to submit a separate scholarship application form.

The deadline to apply is 5pm BST, Thursday 9th June.

Results
