Fire alarm activations: a change in reporting protocol

31 October 2023

You do not need to individually report fire alarm activations. Our security team is equipped with monitoring systems that instantly detect and report fire alarm activations. This change is aimed at streamlining our response process.

While fire alarm activations no longer require individual reporting, we want to emphasise the importance of reporting other fire-related observations that could pose a potential hazard.

What can you report?

  • Blocked fire doors: Unobstructed fire doors are crucial for ensuring a safe and swift evacuation in case of an emergency. > Report a hazard observation (3 mins).
  • Damaged fire doors: Report damaged fire doors in corridors and staircases that serve as escape routes. This includes doors with broken self-closers or doors that don't fully close into their frames. > Report a hazard observation (3 mins).
  • Damaged fire safety equipment: If you notice any damage to fire safety equipment, such as extinguishers or emergency exit signs. > Report a hazard observation (3 mins).
  • Blocked exits or escape routes: Reporting any obstructions in exits or escape routes is crucial for maintaining a clear path during an evacuation. > Report a hazard observation (3 mins).
