Intellectual Property

Copyright protects original work as soon as it is produced irrespective of whether it is published or not. This includes material produced during a student's course of study at UCL and materials produced by UCL staff.  Advice on copyright advice can be found on the Library Services webpages. The Legislation and Background Information webpage provides useful information including what copyright is, how it protects information and how long it lasts.

The Information about your own copyright webpage provides additional information on copyright and how to protect your rights. It also lists the UCL policies on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for both staff and students.
