Launch Event: Digital Health Hub for AMR

BBSRC follow-on fund: 2024 round 1

Apply for follow on funding (FoF) to bridge the gap between bioscience research and achieving economic and societal benefit. FoF applications must draw substantially on current or prior BBSRC funding. The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to £800,000. BBSRC will fund 80% of the FEC.

FEMS Summer School for Postdocs 2024

BBSRC New investigator award: 2024 round 2: responsive mode

The New Investigator scheme is designed primarily to assist newly employed university lecturers, researchers in research council institutes, and fellows to secure their first major element of research support funding. The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to £2 million.

BBSRC Standard research grant: 2024 round 2: responsive mode

This scheme supports excellent investigator-led research across the breadth of BBSRC scientific remit. The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to £2 million. Funding is available for up to five years. BBSRC will fund 80% of the FEC.

2024 BBSRC Fellowships scheme

Apply for funding to carry out independent research within a host laboratory and gain leadership skills. There is no limit on the value of the grant. BBSRC will fund 80% of the full economic cost. Your fellowship will last three years. You can work full time or part time (pro rata).

Bioinformatics and Biological Resources Fund (24BBR)

Apply for funding (up to £2m) to implement, improve or consolidate bioinformatics or biological resources in support of UK bioscience, helping to drive forwards progress in bioscience research and innovation. Your project must focus on the delivery of a community resource that addresses a significant demand or supports an established user base in the biosciences.

Infection Transmission Sandpit Event: London

This dynamic sandpit event will bring companies and research groups together to shape future responses to infection transmission by leveraging breakthrough technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital and automation, advanced humanised infection models, and novel diagnostics.

UKRI-Southeast Asia collaboration on infectious diseases

Apply for funding (up to £1m) to collaborate with partners in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore on infectious diseases with antimicrobial resistance and epidemics potential.

FEMS Industry Placement Grants

Industry Placement Grants assist early career scientists to gain experience at a European host industry. Any industry, including non-laboratory work, can be considered as long as relevant for microbiology. 

Deadline to apply for FEMS Industry Placement Grants are 1 February and 1 August of each year.
