From big data to smart data: Informed Decision Making

A small grant from Public Policy was provided to support this work by our UCL community to enhance policy engagement and impact.

Problem: Public sector organisations increasingly express interest in using data science capabilities to deliver data led decision making that generates efficiencies in high uncertainty environments, but there is little understanding how best to achieve this 

Project: An investigation through seminars, workshops and co-produced projects to deliver technical insights from the latest developments in computer science and machine learning in decision making processes, to be disseminated to and discussed with the Home Office

Policy audience: Home Office and other government departments
