Step 9: Enrolment
Information about Enrolment and becoming a UCL student will be available towards the end of August, if:
- you have accepted UCL as your Firm choice, and
- you have met any pre-requisite conditions.
You will receive an email from us when you are ready to pre-enrol.
We send these emails in batches.
Pre-enrolment
Completing pre-enrolment is the first step towards becoming an enrolled UCL student.
You will need to complete the pre-enrolment task. Your documents will then be checked. If everything is correct, you will then be enrolled at UCL.

International students
Please note that it is possible to complete pre-enrolment without having successfully completed the task in Portico (UCL Applicant Portal) required to receive a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). Please check you have done this if you require a CAS.

International students may wish to refer to further infromation on the International Students Orientation Programme.
The International Orientation Course, which you can do before arriving in the UK, contains important information about life in the UK and helps international students familiarise themselves with everything they need to know about studying at UCL. This online course will be available in August. There are also a number of orientation activities once you arrive at UCL.

New students
We want you to have a smooth journey as an offer holder to UCL student. After you've finished your journey as an offer holder, our new students website will help you during your first few weeks in joining the UCL community. Information relevant to new students joining in September 2025 will be updated in April/May 2025.
