PhD Studentships in Child Health Research for 2024/25

The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH) is offering up to eight fully-funded research studentships for the academic year 2024/25, covering tuition fees at the UK/EU rate, along with provisions for maintenance and research project running costs.

Spanning a comprehensive spectrum of disciplines, the Child Health Research PhD studentships include a range of project proposals. Encompassing fields from molecular genetics to population health, stem cells to cognitive neuroscience, and fundamental to clinical studies.

Furthermore, GOS ICH stands as a pinnacle of children’s health research in Europe. Collaborating with its partner, the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, the institute houses the largest concentration of children's health research endeavors across the continent.

Application Process

The application process for this opportunity involves a two-stage selection procedure:

  1. Studentship Application: Interested candidates are required to submit their applications. Following this, a shortlisting process will occur in January/February 2024, leading to interviews with shortlisted candidates in mid-March.
  2. PhD Programme Application: Successful applicants from the interview phase will be invited to submit a comprehensive application for the Child Health PhD programme. Candidates are urged to refrain from submitting a PhD application unless they have successfully completed the interview stage and received an invitation to proceed.

The application deadline is set for 9:00 on 12 January 2024.
