We speak to Yaning, BSc Population Health Sciences (Data Science) Alumna, to find out what she has been up to since graduating and how the programme helped her get there.
What is your fondest memory of your time at UCL?
I loved taking part in performance opportunities with societies and friends and cultivating welcoming spaces through the arts.
Please tell us a bit about the work you are doing now.
I am completing an MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology at the University of Oxford, and I look forward to working in health research in the future.
How did your UCL degree help you get to where you are now?
My time at UCL taught me the academic and interpersonal skills I needed to pursue further study and work opportunities. The rigorous teaching I received in quantitative methods and the social determinants of health was especially helpful!
What have been your career highlights?
It must be too early for me to have highlights! However, I have enjoyed hearing about the success of undergraduates who I mentored during my degree.
What would be your advice for current students?
Please believe that you are more qualified than you think.
