Professor Jon Butterworth, Head of Physics and Astronomy, is delighted to announce the Physics & Astronomy Department Gala Dinner on Friday 23 October 2015.
The Gala Dinner aims to bring together our
alumni, students and staff for a celebration of what has fundamentally made
this Department a success- you!
Date: Friday 23 October 2015
Location: Ambassadors, Bloomsbury. Further details will be included in your e-ticket upon confirmation of your booking.
Price: £45 per person, inclusive of a welcome drink, three-course dinner with wine, coffee and petites fours.

Welcome speech by Professor Jon Butterworth (Head of Department) followed by the student awards ceremony
7.15pm: Dinner service
9.15pm: After dinner speech by Professor R S Ellis FRS.
Professor Ellis is about to return as Professor to his alma mater UCL from his current position as the Steele Professor of Astronomy at the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH). His distinguished research focuses on observational cosmology addressing issues related to the nature of the world model, the origin and evolution of galaxies, the growth of large scale structure and the nature and distribution of dark matter.
