Where the Royal Free Library does not hold or have access to an item you require, you may choose to place an inter-library loan request or visit another library. This page gives details of other libraries that members of the Royal Free Library may be eligible to use for the consultation of books and journals not held at the Royal Free.
Other UCL libraries
Staff and students of the UCL Medical School, NHS-funded staff designated as 'recognised teachers', and staff of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust are able to use any UCL library. Royal Free Hospital staff must first register with the Royal Free Hospital Medical Library and obtain a reader ticket before visiting any other UCL library. Information about other UCL Libraries is available from the Library Services website.
Accessing other libraries
The UCL Library Services web pages provide an extensive listing of links to libraries throughout the UK. UCL staff and students can access a number of other libraries which have special arrangements with UCL - more information can be found on the Library Services website.
NHS staff should check access arrangements with any other library they wish to visit. Many will allow access for reference only if you have a genuine academic need to consult their collections. In all cases you are advised to confirm your eligibility with the library that you are intending to visit before travelling.
