MBBS Student Support
Welcome to UCL Medical School Student Support.
As a UCL student, you have access to a wide range of support and services provided by UCL’s Student Support and Wellbeing Team whose expert Wellbeing, Disability and Mental Health staff provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can discuss any issues that may be affecting your ability to study. There's also UCL’s Student Enquiries Centre, whose staff are best placed to advise on how to access the core services that UCL provides, including fees and funding, student status, immigration and visas, events and activities.
As a UCL medical student, we recognise that you may find yourself facing all sorts of pressures and challenges navigating a long, complex and regulated programme of study with extensive placements in clinical environments. Our Medical Student Support Team is here to help with all these differences specific to studying medicine. We are a friendly team of experienced clinical and professional services staff whose aim is to offer you clear and accessible advice to support your progress from admission through to qualification, no matter what the problem may be.
Also, each medical student has a Personal Tutor who is there for you as your first point of call – they can help guide you about learning in the clinical workplace, they can discuss your academic progress and will certainly enjoy hearing about your extra-curricular achievements. They may be able to tell you more about working in their specialty and more of an insight into life as a medical/academic professional and may even be able to provide advice about enhancing your CV or research opportunities available. They may not be able to solve all of your problems (in fact, they almost certainly won’t be able to!) but they can guide you to helpful resources and support services as needed.

Why not visit us in person? We welcome students to walk in and say hi. We also have private consultation rooms should you need to chat to us in confidence. You can visit us in the Student Support office [G12] Rockefeller Building and we look forward to seeing you and hearing how you're getting on. Please be aware that while there are still restrictions, the office may not always be manned and so for the time being, it is best to check with the team to see who will be onsite. Hopefully we will be back to normal soon!
