Dr. Hubin Zhao is now a Lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow, but holds an Honorary post at UCL and remains a DOT-HUB member and close collaborator.

Until October 2020, Hubin was a postdoctoral researcher in DOT-HUB, specialising in electronics and system design.  Hubin led the electronic engineering work of the ANIMATE project to develop a miniaturized, wearable, high-density DOT device that exploits flexible electronics to monitor the sensorimotor functional development of the vulnerable infant at the cot-side.  Before He joined UCL, Hubin received his Ph.D. in biomedical electronics from Newcastle University, U.K., in 2016.  His research interests include fNIRS technology development, brain-computer interfacing, opto-electronic technology, and related medical applications.
