What is MedICSS?

MedICSS (UCL Medical Image Computing Summer School) is an annual summer school organised and run by the Centre for Medical Image Computing (CMIC) and Wellcome-EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS).

MedICSS 2023 will include lectures covering recent developments across medical image computing research, and interactive group projects applying computational imaging techniques.

When is MedICSS 2023?

MedICSS 2023 will run from 3rd-7th July 2023.

Where will MedICSS 2023 take place?

The full scientific content of MedICSS 2023, including lectures and projects, will take in person, at the UCL Centre for Medical Image Computing, at our modern space at 90 High Holborn, London WC1E 6BT 90HH .

An online package option will be available for access to the recorded lectures only (for a time-limit).

We have planned complementary in-person social events for registered delegates London, including a research poster session.

Who can attend?

MedICSS 2023 is open to participants at any career stage who are interested in learning more about medical image computing. We anticipate that many attendees will be masters or first year doctoral students, or those who are relatively new to medical imaging. The course is designed so that attendees with varied levels of experience will all benefit.

What projects are available?

Check out our 2023 projects page. There are lots of exciting projects. 

Do I have to do a project?

Yes, in-person delegates are expected to do projects. Alternatively, we are offering an online lectures only package.

How much does it cost?

  • In person Students - £200
  • In person Researchers/Industry - £250
    • Lecture-only Online Students: £10
    • Lecture-only Online Researchers/Industry: £15

Is there any financial assistance available?

We are offering a limited number of fee waivers to applicants based in countries defined by the World Bank as Low-Income or Lower-Middle-Income Economies. You can apply for the waiver by completing the relevant sections of the application form.
