UCL Faculty of Life Sciences

The Faculty of Life Sciences is ranked fourth in the world for Pharmacy and Pharmacology, sixth in the world for Biological Sciences, and ninth in the world for Life Sciences (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024).

Our research spans an incredible breadth of scientific areas; from fundamental research into the origins of life and evolutionary genetics through structural, molecular and cell biology, developmental biology and neuroscience to ecology and biodiversity.

We are part of the School of Life and Medical Sciences which brings together four Faculties to create one of the largest and most prestigious groups of academics in biomedical, life and population health sciences worldwide.
