British Library service disruptions: advice for students and researchers

22 February 2024

In light of the on-going disruption to British Library service, we would like to remind our students, and in particular postgraduate students, how they can find and access resources to support their research.

UCL resources and support

UCL has rich and extensive collections. More information on how to find and access resources at UCL is available on our website.

If you need a specific book or resource that we don’t already have access to, you can suggest that we purchase this.

There is a wealth of libraries in London that students are able to access.

For items that we are not able to purchase or access in nearby libraries, we can use our Interlending and Document Supply Service to request these from other libraries.

Our Subject Liaison Librarians are available to support any students embarking on their research project with finding and accessing appropriate resources.

Taught Postgraduate students who had anticipated using British Library materials are advised to check whether they will be able to access these over the coming months. Should you need to reconsider your research topic we can help in finding alternative resources. Please refer to your subject librarian.
