UCL Library Services aims to make books and other resources available to support your learning and research. We welcome suggestions to purchase materials that we don't currently have available.
E-first purchasing policy
We have an e-first purchasing policy so will automatically purchase e-books where possible. If for some reason the e-version is an inadequate substitute for print you can add details in relevant box below and this will be considered. This doesn’t include personal preference for print format.
Making a request
Requests can be made by UCL Library members.
Please check the catalogue first to make sure that we don't already have the item.
In order to process your request quickly it is helpful if you can provide as much information as possible. Please use a separate form for each item suggested. All suggestions will be considered by the Library and we will contact you to let you know whether an item is being purchased.
Print books take an average of 14 days to arrive. However, some take a lot longer, e.g. if they are not yet published, are out of print, or are published overseas. E-books are available on average within five days of being ordered.
If you need an item urgently then we may be able to find it in a nearby library or access it via an Inter Library loan more quickly. Contact our Library Help Team for more advice.
