Our thoughts and best wishes are with all those affected by the war in Ukraine.

The Provost Dr Michael Spence has shared a message responding to the war in Ukraine outlining how UCL will support members of our community who are affected by the conflict. The university has also compiled sources of support for staff and students, which will be updated on an ongoing basis.

UCL SSEES Library has many print and digital resources available for anyone interested in the history, culture and politics of the region and the wider context of the war. This includes guides compiled by SSEES library staff, a list of Ukrainian TV channels and programmes, and a Guide to primary resources pertaining to the beginning of the current crisis. We are also contributing to the SSEES Resources on Ukraine page and are in the process of purchasing additional books and resources. We have been sharing relevant updates via the SSEES Library’s Twitter account.

The Library is actively supporting the SSEES students’ donation drive for Ukrainian refugees.

The SSEES Library is a member of the Council for Slavonic and East European Library and Information Services (COSEELIS), who published a statement of support for Ukraine.

More resources including media comments from UCL academics and ways to help can be found on the SSEES on Ukraine website.
