Applications are now open for the International Pre-Master's (IPM)

The IPM has been designed for students who meet the academic requirements of their future Master's degree and would like to enhance their academic ability and improve their English language level.

The focus is on experiencing authentic academic situations and tasks that typically take place on UK Master's programmes so that students are empowered to feel more academically confident and independent.

The UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) is pleased to offer two entry points for the IPM:

• September 2022: nine-month course
• January 2023: six-month course

The course structure comprises three modules. The first two cover academic skills and English language skills – critical for success in postgraduate study.

The IPM's third module is specific to the student's future area of study, with nine modules running in a variety of disciplines.

We're proud of our previous students who have achieved impressive pass rates over the last three years:

• 2019: 100%
• 2020: 95%
• 2021: 100%

Our IPM students have gone on to study either at UCL or another leading UK university, including LSE, the University of Warwick and the University of Manchester.

Those who went on to study a postgraduate qualification at UCL achieved impressive results in their Master's degrees:

• 2020: 100% achieved a Merit or Distinction
• 2021: 95% achieved a Merit or Distinction

Applications for the IPM are now open and will close in August for the nine-month course and December for the six-month course. UCL CLIE will close applications early should the course become full.
