UCL Centre for Languages & International Education

The UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) offers a range of degree preparation and foundation courses for international students, as well as a diverse portfolio of summer schools. Courses in nine modern foreign languages and academic English are provided across a range of levels as credit-bearing modules for UCL degree students. Foreign languages are also offered in the evening to UCL students, UCL staff and London’s wider academic and professional community.

The ACC offers discipline-specific academic communication support to both native and non-native English speakers currently studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at UCL.

UCL student or staff members have access to nearly 10,000 online recordings, including films, documentaries, lectures, online exercises, course videos and audio recordings in a wide variety of languages.
