Applications are now open for the new UCL Pre-University Online Summer Course for High School Students.

UCL Centre for Languages & International Education specialises in helping students prepare for their future degree. This course joins our suite of short and summer courses.

Eligible students will be studying at high school, in – or about to start – their final year, be 16-18 years old for the duration of the course, and not speak English as their first language.

This summer course, unlike others, doesn't just give students more knowledge about one subject but includes a variety of subjects.

The summer course takes place from 25 July to 5 August 2022, following an induction on 22 July 2022.

While studying at a top 10 global university (QS 2023), students will develop key skills such as critical thinking, presentation and report writing, independent study, and teamwork.

The programme comprises both academic English training and study in a range of disciplines from the sciences, arts, humanities and social sciences.

Students will be taught in live online sessions scheduled in the mornings (UK time), as well as taking optional self-study digital activities.

The summer course includes opportunities to participate in virtual visits to a variety of sites around London, including the UCL campus, The Museum of London, and Greenwich.

Students will use the skills and knowledge developed during the first week of the course to complete a research report, and deliver a short presentation based upon it.

All those who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate, alongside a full report.
