Recording and accessing a Zoom cloud recording

This guide explains how to record a Zoom event to the cloud.

This guide is aimed at

  • Staff
  • Students

Instructions

Tip: at UCL, meetings are not set to automatically record, therefore you will need to manually start your recording once your meeting has begun.

  1. Once your meeting has started, click on the Record button on the meeting toolbar. If you have enabled local recording you will be given the option to choose the save location, otherwise you will not see this option and your meeting will be recorded directly to the cloud. Participants will be notified when recording has started.
  2. When you wish to pause or stop recording, click on the Pause/Stop recording button. Participants will be notified when the recording is paused or stopped.
  3. Once you have finished recording, it will be saved to the cloud and you will receive an email from Zoom with a link to that recording.
