Evidence ecologies: Challenges of using evidence in practice
Join this event to hear Sally Riordan challenge the idea that research evidence can be summarised so it is easy to use for policymakers and teachers while still remaining meaningful.

An evidence ecosystem is the totality of processes that select, synthesise, transport, transform and implement research findings.
In this seminar, Sally will present examples of how these processes skew research findings to such an extent that the net impact of the research dissemination process is negative. In particular, she will share the results of a systematic review of a meta-analysis that provides the official justification for the National Tutoring Programme (NTP).
This in-person event will be particularly useful for researchers, policymakers and school leaders who are interested in the use of evidence for policy and practice.
