Research summary

Research interests include: Waste heat recovery using the thermoelectric effect; Development of self-healing polymers; Novel approaches for polymer recycling; Development of coatings for ice management; Enhancing properties of carbon nanoparticles; New manufacturing processes for metal oxide nanoparticles with controlled shape. 

Teaching summary

Teaching responsibilities include: Creator and convenor for NSCI0021; Co-creator and convenor for NSCI0016 and NSCI0017. Other teaching responsibilities include: Co-creator of NSCI0013, NSCI0014, NSCI0015 and NSCI0022.

Biography

Dr Prospero Taroni-Junior joined UCL as a Lecturer (Teaching) in 2019, and his main interests are to promote sustainability within Materials Sciences and beyond. Prospero is leading the upcoming MSc Advanced Materials Sciences (Sustainability), which will be delivered from 2023/2024 at UCL East. Furthermore, Prospero is IMD's Wellbeing Champion since 2020, signposting staff and students to appropriate help related to mental health, whenever needed.
