Fibroblast biology, tissue remodelling & fibrosis
Robin McAnulty is Reader and Head of the Lung Pathobiology Group in the UCL Respiratory Centre for Inflammation and Tissue Repair within the Division of Medicine, UCL. His main research interests focus on the molecular regulation of fibroblast/myofibroblast phenotype, their role in tissue remodelling and fibrosis, and their modulation for potential therapeutic benefit. Particular areas of current interest include cyclooxygenase- and epigenetic-mediated regulation of fibroblast function with primary disease focus on pulmonary fibrosis and airway remodelling in asthma. He has lead numerous collaborative projects with industrial partners, acted as a consultant and expert opinion provider to the pharmaceutical industry and is on the editorial boards of several international journals.
Following PhD training and post-doctoral positions at the National Heart and Lung Institute, London he moved to UCL as a lecturer and group leader in 1995.
