Bringing together world-leading basic, applied, clinical and
translational scientists, we perform disease focussed research. Through
understanding mechanisms of disease we aim to improve prevention, diagnosis,
intervention and treatment.
Research Department of Infection
From emerging infections to chronic inflammatory conditions, our research looks at fundamental aspects of host-pathogen interactions and host immune response. Through understanding these mechanisms we aim to improve prevention, diagnosis, intervention, and the treatment of disease.
Institute of Immunity and Transplantation
Academics at the UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation (IIT) collaborate to accelerate research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of major diseases such as cancer, HIV and hepatitis as well as generating vital knowledge around stem cells, exploring their potential to grow new organs for transplantation.
