Innovative drug therapies could cure TB
20 February 2017
New Scientist recently reported that two new drug therapies may be able to cure all forms of tuberculosis.
Professor Tim McHugh, a member of the TB Alliance who participated in the study, and his collaborators discovered that the two new therapies reduced treatment times, even in those with drug resistant strains.
Preliminary data for the new treatments, BPaMZ and BPaL, suggest they could make treating TB much simpler and more effective.
