Professor Izzat Darwazeh, ICCS Director and Professor of Communications Engineering, has provided the opening keynote of the 28th International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT2021).
The conference, while being virtual, opened in London on the 1st of June. The three-day event is one of the prestigious annual international telecommunications conferences and this year focused on promoting new ideas, state-of-the-art research and development as well as visionary future directions in telecommunications.
Professor Darwazeh's opening keynote was entitled "New physical layer paradigms for 6G: non-orthogonal signals for spectral and energy efficiency" which explores the work of his research team, based in UCL's Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, developing new wave-forms and signal designs for future generations of mobile communications.
