5G, the next generation of mobile technology arrived in the UK on 30th May 2019. As our lifestyles become more connected and data-hungry applications arrive such as; instantaneous media streaming, Virtual Reality and Autonomous Vehicles, the demand on infrastructure to share and use data increases significantly. As demand increases so has the criticality of this infrastructure. Leading academic in the field of wireless communications Prof Darwazeh will Introduce 5G by discussing: What is the new Mobile Technology. Why is it needed, and how will it impact our lives. How will it meet claims made about 5G, and what new engineering will enable this.
About the Speaker
Professor Izzat Darwazeh
Director of ICCS, Chair of Communication Engineering in Dept at UCL
Professor Darwazeh is the director of ICCS along with leading the 70-strong Information and Communication Engineering research group with the EEE Dept.
He began his studies as an Undergraduate in his home country, at the University of Jordan in Amman, before moving to the UK to pursue his postgraduate education and then research career.
An author of 4 books and over 250 book chapters and papers he is globally considered an expert in Wireless Communications. He regularly acts as a consultant and advisor to academic, industrial and governmental entities within the UK and Internationally.
