UCL Laws IP PhD Students Participate in Joint IBIL and QMIPRI Seminar

UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) co-host a Doctoral Seminar jointly with Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI).

On 8th February, the UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) hosted a seminar for IP PhD researchers in conjunction with Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI).

The seminar provided an opportunity for IP researchers to present some aspect of their PhD research before an audience of fellow PhD students and Faculty, with the floor opened up to question after each presentation. The following presentations were given: 

  • Felipe Osorio Umaña, UCL Laws PhD Scholar - Three Limits of the Public Domain to Re-Balance Copyright Law; 
  • Uchechukwu Ani, QMUL - IP and Gender in the Indian film Industry; and
  • Barasha Borthakur, Research Associate, QMIPRI, QMUL - Patent Cooperation in Green IP.

The afternoon session included lunch, so that attendees had the opportunity to network and enjoy more informal discussions about their research.
