Professor Ilanah Fhima invited to speak at WIPO Judicial Colloquium

Professor Ilanah Fhima was invited to address the Judicial Colloquium on Copyright, Trademarks and Mediation of IP Disputes for the Judiciary of the United Republic of Tanzania, orgainised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).

Ilanah Fhima, Professor of Intellectual Property Law at UCL Laws and Co-director of the Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) was invited to speak at the Judicial Colloquium on Copyright, Trademarks and Mediation of IP Disputes for the Judiciary of the United Republic of Tanzania, organised by WIPO, and attended by around 60 Tanzanian judges. 

The WIPO Colloquium has been organised to increase the capacity of judges and magistrates from Tanzania in relation to the handling of IP-related disputes. Professor Fhima addressed the Judicial Colloquium on the nature of trade mark rights and scope of infringement in an online presentation taking place on 28 February 2023. She was joined on the panel by Hon. Paul Kihwelo, Justice, Court of Appeal, Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania and Hon. Jeremy Fogel, Executive Director, Berkeley Judicial Institute.
