Information on the terms of reference for, and members of, the Gender Equality Steering Group (GESG)


The Gender Equality Steering Group (GESG) was set up in 2019 and promotes and coordinates good practice in gender equality at UCL.

We do this by bringing together a broad range of perspectives through our membership; we will work with and challenge senior management and the whole institution to advance and deliver UCL’s gender equality priorities.

This includes, but is not limited to, participation in the Athena Swan charter at institutional and departmental level, profiling and sharing good practice, ensuring UCL meets externally imposed requirements for good practice, resourcing initiatives, considering and addressing issues of multiple disadvantages, and championing necessary change. GESG considers itself the grit that catalyses the formation of a rare pearl.
