Frontiers of Simulation and Experimentation for Personalised Cardiovascular Management and Treatment
1 August 2018
A two-day conference on Frontiers of Simulation and Experimentation for Personalised Cardiovascular Management and Treatment was hosted at UCL last week.
The VPH CaSE conference brought together Early Career Researchers (ECRs) who are currently working at the frontier of cardiovascular research. VPH-CaSE focuses on state-of-the-art developments in personalised cardiovascular support, underpinned by simulation and experimentation.

The conference aimed to provide attendees with a platform to showcase their research results and to discuss with experienced scientists, engineers, educators and other young investigators about their latest ideas in cardiovascular engineering for personalised Cardiovascular Management and Treatment. There was also an invitation for the best work from the conference to submit full papers for a special issue of Medical Engineering and Physics from the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and and the new ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy.

The conference was organised by Dr Vanessa Diaz with the support and collaboration of UCL Engineering, UCL Mechanical Engineering, UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering, Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS), Leeds Test Objects, Insigneo, Ansys and CERTARA.
