Please note: this is an internal event and you must be a UCL researcher to attend.

Chair: Dr Rochelle Burgess, Co-lead of the UCL Creative Health Community, and Associate Professor of Global Health at the UCL Institute for Global Health.

Speaker: Dr Marquard Smith, Deputy Director (Collaborations and Partnerships) at AHRC's London Arts & Humanities Partnership, Founder and Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Visual Culture, and Associate Professor at the Department of Culture, Communication & Media, IOE.

Arts-based research allows the generation of amazing insights, but in many instances, its life beyond research is less explored.

In this session, our speaker and chair will reflect on this critical ‘next step’ in creative health research, exploring how the art itself is a product that can be used to promote further discussion, debate and potential advocacy/activism.

The session will also work through a ‘how to guide’ on working with artists within research, and setting up public exhibitions that are centred around the use of art generated through research.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A and dialogue with the audience.
