Translation Studies

The Centre for Translation Studies (CenTraS) is an interdisciplinary research centre that is home to postgraduate degrees in Translation and Technology (MSc) and Translation Studies (MA/Mphil/PhD) as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) short courses. All staff are active researchers or professional translators and interpreters; our innovative programmes reflect the latest developments in the exciting and fast-changing field of translating and interpreting.

Research

Our research activity focuses on specialisms such as audiovisual translation, medical translation, translation technologies (automation, localisation), translation theory, theatre translation, translation training, interpreting, and intercultural mediation.

Our curriculum includes a practice of Wordfast translation tools, courtesy of Wordfast LLC and Yves Champollion.
