Translation Studies MA / MSc

We offer two Masters programmes, MA Translation and MSc Translation and Technology, both of which give you the opportunity to develop translation and language skills.

Both programmes have a number of routes structured in such a way as to enable you to focus on your chosen specialism.

The MA Translation is open to students with any language combination, though some of the optional modules are only available to students with specific language pairs. NEW FOR SEPTEMBER 2024 ENTRY: Chinese INTO English, as well as Russian, Japanese, Korean or Arabic INTO English. These combinations are suitable for native English speakers who may be heritage speakers of these languages.

The MSc Translation and Technology is only open to students with specific language pairs. Please check the details under each pathway via the links below. If your language pair is not listed, please contact the MSc Convenor, Daniela Ford.

Our bonds with the industry have been strong traditionally, since the establishment of the MSc Programme, which highly promoted the use of technology in the profession.
