Increasingly our work is focusing on factors in later life which influence the risks of heart disease (including heart failure), stroke and diabetes, and the relationships between these conditions and disability and frailty. Insights from new scientific approaches, including genomics and metabolomics, will also be increasingly important in the next phase of research. We also continue to have a strong interest in the relationships between physical activity and health.
