The competition was launched to recognise excellent peer-reviewed, published, original research authored by UCL early career researchers in the broad theme of populations and lifelong health.

Sara's work, part of a BHF-funded research programme supporting the Whitehall II study, led to an original and important BMJ paper forecasting evolution of the dementia epidemic in England & Wales to 2040. Last July's paper had substantial press coverage. View the paper on the BMJ website:  https://www.bmj.com/content/358/bmj.j2856.long
