UCL startup Your Juno receives £1.6m to help close financial gender gap
24 March 2022
Financial education platform Your Juno, launched by a UCL alumna and her sister, has received £1.6 million of investment in a seed funding round.
The site helps to empower women and non-binary people to improve their financial literacy through tailored courses, content and community discussion.
Working in finance themselves Margot de Broglie (UCL Economics) and sister Alexia came up with the idea for the platform during the pandemic.
Your Juno users can access short video courses led by experts including Selina Flavius, author of ‘Black Girl Finance: Let’s Talk About Money’, and gamified content. The app breaks topics down into segments including budgeting, emergency funds and debt.
Since launching, Your Juno has been downloaded more than 10,000 times, primarily by Gen-Z women.
The startup is currently in residence at The Hatchery incubator space in BaseKX, UCL’s entrepreneurship hub in King’s Cross, run by UCL Innovation & Enterprise. Here Your Juno has access to free, tailored support and dedicated office space.
The team received the £1.6 million funding in a seed round led by InReach Ventures to grow the platform globally.
