Take training to help you manage conflicts of interest and access new system

22 February 2021

Mandatory online training is available to help staff and doctoral students manage conflicts of interest at UCL. A system to help you disclose conflicts and declare interests is also available.

UCL's new online disclosure-of-conflicts training will help you understand how to recognise, disclose and manage conflicts of interest. It clarifies how to deal with any conflicts that may arise in relation to your role at UCL.

The training should take around 20 to 30 minutes (depending on how many units you need to do, based on your role). It’s accessed through the UCL MyLearning portal.

Fully accessible versions of the training are now also available.

The training supports UCL’s Disclosure of Conflict and Declaration of Interest Policy.

Who must complete the training and disclose conflicts of interest on the system?

All staff and doctoral students must complete this mandatory training before the end of July 2021.

All staff and doctoral students must also disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest through the new ‘UCL Manage Conflicts and Disclose Interests’ system.

Additionally, staff at grade 10 and over, as well as other senior staff listed in the policy, are required to complete an annual declaration of interest. (Please note that this is a change from the previous policy where staff at grade 6 and above were required to complete this annual declaration.)

The system can be accessed via www.ucl.ac.uk/myhr

Accessible versions of training

Fully accessible versions of the training are now available in audio and Word format.

These are for anyone who might find it difficult to use the online interactive version.
