Study sustainability engineering at UCL
Find the UCL Engineering postgraduate programme to match your interest in studying sustainability
Join us on a UCL Engineering postgraduate programme, and you’ll give yourself the opportunity to become an eco-engineering expert, ready for a fulfilling career and the chance to make a real difference to the global fightback against climate change.
You’ll develop the same multidisciplinary approach that lies at the heart of everything we do. This means your sustainability engineering expertise will be underpinned by a diverse set of methodologies, knowledge and skills from across such disciplines as mechanical, chemical, civil, environmental and geomatic engineering.
Our MSc, MRes and MPA programmes are also co-designed and delivered with UCL experts from outside the Faculty of Engineering, allowing you to absorb diverse and creative perspectives from architecture, biology, physics and much more.
As a UCL engineering researcher, you’ll push the boundaries of what’s possible, whether by improving hydrogen fuel cells with nature-inspired solutions drawn from the fractal geometry of the human lung, or developing new construction materials that use living bacteria to capture and lock away CO2.
On our MRes programmes (and many of our MScs) you’ll explore opportunities to get involved in exciting research like this, through our eight UCL Institutes researching sustainability. These include The Centre for Urban Sustainability and Resilience (USAR), the Climate Action Unit and the People and Nature Lab.
