This module aims to develop an empirical understanding of how firms operate and how markets operate.
In particular, it addresses the following topics:

  • Determinants of market outcomes
  • Cost and technology estimation
  • Demand estimation
  • Market definition
  • Market structure and prices
  • Mergers

Assessment:2 hours of lectures per week and 5 problem classes with written assignments. The course will be examined by a 2-hour written exam in Term 3
