Joseph Schneck

Joseph Schneck is an MSc student (Audiological Sciences) at the UCL Ear Institute

Having graduated from Birkbeck College, where I completed a BSc Biological Sciences degree, I am now pursuing an MSc in Audiological Sciences at UCL. As an undergraduate student my field-based research and literary review projects were both insect related. My undergraduate paper on honeybee aggression has been provisionally accepted for publication subject to minor revisions and is expected to be published soon.

At present I am looking at expression patterns of a gene thought to be associated with Rhodopsin production in the Drosophila melanogaster Johnston's organs. I also test how a mutation in this gene affects the function of the fly’s auditory organ.
