Centre for Data Science

Research in data science at UCL focusses on the extraction of useful knowledge from novel and complex datasets. With increasing volumes of data being generated and processed by scientists, governments and the public, methods for acquisition, computation, analysis, storage and retrieval must evolve to keep pace.

One of the main aims of the Centre for Data Science is to connect researchers and facilitate collaboration across UCL, as well as to creat dialogue between UCL researchers and partners at other universities, industry, and government.

Our current research themes include:

  • Causal inference
  • Statistical computing
  • High dimensional statistics and network data

Our researchers are involved in many different applications of Data Science. These include

  • Health Science
  • Economics
  • Geoinfromatics
  • Physics
  • Sociology
  • Psychiatry
  • Network Science
