Gemma has a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology from UCL and an MSc in Pharmacology, she has worked in academic clinical research since 2006, starting as a trial coordinator in Haem- Oncology (QMUL). She then went on to work as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) and Senior CRA at King's Clinical Trials Office before moving to the UCL/ UCLH Joint research Office (JRO) as their Clinical Trials Operations Manager. In December 2017 Gemma moved to UCL CCTU as Head of Clinical Trial Operations, where she leads a team of Clinical Project Managers, Trial Managers, Data managers and Administrators. Her areas of expertise are managing CTIMPs, monitoring, Quality Management Systems and GCP. She has a keen interest in Advanced Therapies and Medical Devices, and teaches on the ICTM MSc in Clinical Trials. Gemma Chairs the ICTM and JRO working group for GDPR implementation and is a member of the R&D Forum Sponsorship Working Group.
